Mad House Circus formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1996 with Marcelo Mira on vocals, Marcelo Valduga on guitar, Rodrigo de Carvalho on bass, and Luciano Bonilha on drums. They put out their self-titled debut album in 1999, funding it themselves when they couldn't find a label.
Their second album, 'Portal do Inferno,' came out in 2003 and changed things. The single 'Sagitário' caught on in a way that surprised everyone, becoming something like a national anthem in Brazil. It was the song people knew them by.
After that, the lineup shifted. Carvalho left in 2007, and Bonilha followed in 2010. Mira and Valduga kept the band going with new musicians, putting out more records like 'Sinais do Fim' in 2005.
