That match the morning sky

She wore jeans every Thursday

Excited bout Friday fries

And every Friday afternoon

She’d lend me new eyes

And tell me these stories bout pretty butterflies

She wore t-shirts and sneakers

Didn’t care bout no dress code

She was the kind of popular girl

That people bragged to know

But nobody saw her quite like I did

Her smile lit up the hallway

In spite of fighting kids

She wrote poetry and talked to me

Bout dandelion fuzz

She loved earring and piercings

But never got them done

And every Friday afternoon

She stared at the falling Sun

And told me these stories

Bout where her life begun
