A hip-hop pair from Oslo who turned a Four Seasons cover into a worldwide smash.
If you only know Beggin', check out One Life with Kelly Rowland to hear how they built on that sound. Liar gives a good sense of their later, sharper hip-hop side.
They're the Norwegian rap act that broke out far beyond Scandinavia, mostly on the strength of that 2007 cover of Beggin'. It topped charts in over 20 countries and gave them a platform for collaborations like One Life with Kelly Rowland. Their sound, built on that hit, let them work with Ne-Yo and others while keeping a distinct Oslo hip-hop feel.
They started as Mad Conspiracy in 1992, a duo of Tanzanian-Norwegian and Ethiopian-Norwegian rappers. After early albums like Contakt, the Beggin' cover in 2007 changed everything, leading to So Dark the Con of Man and Contraband. Later tracks like All I Do and Liar show them moving through different phases while staying a duo.
