Madras formed in Chennai in 2011 with members Iniyan, Chinna, and Kannan. Their first single 'Ayrton' came out the following year, a ballad about the Formula One driver that got some attention. They've put out a couple albums since then, including 'Moodu' in 2014 and 'Naanum Unnum' in 2018.
You can hear some of their other songs like 'Kookaburra' and 'Tasmania' on their releases. The music pulls from Tamil folk and Western pop, though there was some talk back in 2014 about a melody sounding similar to an older folk song. They've kept playing shows around India since.
