Madre Cassino formed in the early 1990s with Anthony Pappa on vocals and guitar, Dave Botti on guitar, Mike Cafaro on bass, and Chris Scheele on drums. Their debut album 'Channel' came out in 1994, followed by 'Lines of Flight' in 1996. That second album included 'Bye Suzy,' which became their best-known song.
They made five studio albums between 1994 and 2005, with titles like 'The Stars Are So Big, I Can't Even See Them' and 'Glass Bead Game.' Other songs in their catalog include 'Offroad,' 'Like Amoeba,' and 'Creedy Motorcycle.'
The band's sound had a dreamy, atmospheric quality, with Pappa's vocals and lyrics at the center. They worked in alternative rock during the 1990s and early 2000s, though they faced some internal conflicts and lineup changes over time.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
