Madreblu

Madreblu formed in 2001 with Francesco Paolo Messina on vocals and guitar, Luca Bortolato on bass, and Michele Viccaro on drums. Their debut album 'Certamente' came out the following year, anchored by the title track that became a hit in Italy. The song 'Certamente' and others like 'Bargiallo' and 'Giro Girotondo' helped establish their presence in Italian pop.

Their second album 'Pensiero Stupendo' arrived in 2004, followed by 'La Guerra dei Sogni' in 2007. During this period, the band faced criticism about their lyrical approach and musical direction. Bortolato left the group in 2008, and Madreblu continued as a duo with Messina and Viccaro.

They released several more albums including 'Ti Racconto una Storia' in 2009, 'Amore e Realtà' in 2012, and 'La Vita che Voglio' in 2015. Their catalog includes songs like 'Breathing,' 'Buon Compleanno,' 'Calma,' 'Carmilla,' and 'Ego' that maintained their connection with listeners even as their commercial peak passed.
