Magazin formed in Sarajevo in 1982 with Zdravko Čolić on lead vocals, Željko Marinković on guitar and backing vocals, Borislav Zlatkovski on keyboards, and Miroslav Stanić on bass. Their debut single "Doktor" was an early hit. The band's 1983 album "Oprosti" included the ballad "Jel' Zbog Nje," which became one of their most enduring songs.
In 1985, guitarist Željko Marinković died in a car accident. The band continued, with Goran Bjelobačić joining on guitar and backing vocals. Zdravko Čolić left the group in 1992 during the Bosnian War. Through the late 1980s, Magazin released albums like "Noćas je nešto drugo," "Dok je tebe," and "Vrijeme je za." Other songs in their catalog include "Nazaret," "Ti Si Zelja Mog Zivota," and "Ako Poludim."
Borislav Zlatkovski and Miroslav Stanić have remained with the band since its formation, with Zlatkovski still on keyboards and Stanić on bass. Their music, which often dealt with themes of love and loss, maintained popularity in the former Yugoslavia and beyond.
