Maggie Rogers grew up in Easton, Maryland, and came from a musical household where she heard folk, pop, and electronic music. She has mentioned Joni Mitchell, Feist, and Bon Iver as influences. In 2016, her song 'Alaska' caught Pharrell Williams' attention, which led to a performance on his 'othertone' series and eventually a deal with Capitol Records.
Her debut EP 'Now That the Light Is Fading' came out in 2017, followed by the album 'Heard It in a Past Life' in 2019. Songs like 'Love You For a Long Time' and 'Say It' came from that period.
She released another album called 'Surrender' in 2022, which included tracks such as 'Horses' and 'Begging For Rain'. Rogers has performed with a band that includes Benji Lysaght on piano and keyboards, Alex Sauser-Monnig on guitar and vocals, Graham Ulicny on bass and vocals, and Jim Hoke on drums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
