Magic Affair came together in Germany in the early 1990s, put together by producer Mike Staab. The original lineup included vocalist Franca Morgano, rapper Martin Scholz, keyboardist Peter Kretschmer, and drummer Klaus Kuehn. Their first single 'Omen III' came out in 1993 and found an audience in the German dance scene.
In 1994 they released 'Magical Love Affair,' which became their biggest hit internationally. Other songs from that period like 'The Rhythm Makes You Wanna Dance' and 'Break These Chains' kept them on dance floors. Franca Morgano left the group in 1995, and Janine Love took over on vocals for subsequent releases.
They kept recording through the mid-1990s with songs like 'Energy Of Light' and 'Fire' appearing on their albums. The group's sound was built around dance rhythms with melodic synth lines and vocals, a style that connected with the Eurodance wave of that decade.
