The band behind 'Amor Amor' and other Brazilian pop hits from the late 90s onward.
If you're checking them out, 'Amor Amor' is the obvious starting point. But 'Roberta' from their later period has its own quiet appeal.
Magno's debut single 'Amor Amor' became a major hit in Brazil in 1997, establishing their place in the country's pop landscape. Songs like 'Baladeiro' and 'Venha Ver' from that period have stuck around, and later tracks like 'Roberta' and 'Frontin' continued to find listeners even as their commercial peak passed. They're one of those bands whose early work still surfaces in Brazilian pop conversations.
Formed in São Paulo in 1995 with Fábio Júnior on vocals and guitar, Fábio Santini on bass, and Edson Rodrigues on drums. They released their debut album 'Amor Amor' in 1997, followed by 'Nosso Amor' in 2000 and 'Vida' in 2003. Their later music didn't reach the same commercial level as that first hit, but it remained part of the Brazilian pop scene.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
