Entering The Cavern Of Grief

When it all began I felt lost and confused

All I've ever been has been devoured by despair

Help was out of reach, was my life put at risk?

I should have known that my past would catch up with me

I entered the cavern of grief

I never compromised my awry beliefs

Being forced to question my way

Opened my eyes, the fool faded away

I always thought I wandered harmless ways

But I've burnt myself, provoking my own fate

I was unaware

What was lurking inside

Darkness decaying the deep

Erasing my inner sense

I was too obtuse

To know what I have become

I have drowned myself

And was trapped alive

In my solitary shell

But now I have found myself

I entered the cavern of grief

My salvation was not yet in sight

I fell into a bottomless hole

I have won this battle. Mighty earth was but a tempest, dark and savage

Through which, at times, a dazzling Sun would shoot

The thunder and the rain have made such ravage

My garden is nigh bare of rosy fruit
