Maiden Lane formed in Philadelphia, where a few musicians who liked classic rock started playing together. Their singer was Charisma "Chas" Cooper. In 1998 they put out an album called "The Ride of My Life," and the title track became their most recognizable song. They also recorded "I'm Thinking Of You" and "Autumn Times."
Their music had a straightforward rock feel with room for some quieter moments. They kept at it for several years, releasing more albums like "The Promise" in 2002 and "The Edge" in 2005. The band's lineup shifted at times, but they kept working on their own terms without much fuss about the music industry.
You can still hear their songs on rock radio sometimes, especially "The Ride of My Life." It's the kind of track that sounds like it belongs on a highway drive with the windows down.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
