Maik Avlis formed in the late 1990s when Mikel "Maik" Avlies, Sven Petersen, and Hans-Peter "HP" Kunz met at a local music festival. They started playing together with a shared interest in rock music, eventually releasing their debut album "Rock the Beat" in 2004.
The title track from that album became a hit for the band, helping them build an audience. Their live shows featured Maik's vocals, Sven's guitar work, and HP's drumming, which developed a following over time.
Like many bands, they faced internal disagreements and creative tensions along the way.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
