Maja Nikolic is a Serbian folk singer from Požega. Her grandmother was a singer, and she grew up listening to traditional music. In 2012, she released her debut album 'Oro', which included the song 'Tamo daleko'. That track became widely popular in Serbia.
Her other songs include 'Ako Verujes Ti', 'Bez stida', 'Bolesna', and 'Boli'. She has released two more albums since her debut: 'Ljubav, Srbija' in 2014 and 'Dama' in 2019.
In 2014, she performed at a political rally and faced criticism for it. She has also been mentioned in tabloid stories about her personal life. She performs with musicians including Miloš Nikolic on drums, Nemanja Vasiljević on bass, and Dejan on accordion.
