Malina Olinescu

Malina Olinescu was born in 1974 in Pucioasa, a small town in Romania. She started performing in local choirs and competitions when she was six years old. Her voice had a particular quality that blended strength with a delicate sweetness, which became recognizable later on.

In the early 2000s, she recorded a version of the Romanian national anthem called "Eu Cred." Some traditionalists criticized it for sounding too much like pop music. Olinescu kept singing it anyway, and the song became widely known. It remains her most remembered recording.
