Mammon is a Japanese metal band that formed in 2010, led by vocalist Hirotaka Kobayashi. The group includes guitarist Ryota, bassist Junichi, and drummer Tetsu. They put out their first single, 'Are You Ready?', in 2011.
Their music tends toward the aggressive, mixing heavy metal with industrial and electronic touches. The 2011 track 'Are You Ready?' got some attention as an anime opening theme. They've released several albums since, including Deformed Cross in 2013, The Lost Eden in 2015, and more recent ones like Purgatory in 2021.
In 2012, the band faced plagiarism accusations that led to a short break. They came back and have kept putting out records. Kobayashi's vocals and the band's dense, layered sound give their work a particular intensity.
