Mammut

Mammut is a Colombian rock band that formed in the early 2000s around singer and songwriter Kike Santander. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2004, mixing alternative rock with some electronic touches and lyrics that leaned toward the introspective. The song 'Cada dia' from that record connected with listeners and helped establish them.

After their initial success, the band went through a lineup change in 2006, which led to a period where they had to figure out their direction again. They kept recording, putting out albums like 'Resplandor' in 2008 and 'Eclipse' in 2011. Their music sometimes addressed social or political themes, as with the song 'El Rito,' which commented on Colombia's drug trade.

Over time, Mammut developed a catalog that includes tracks like 'Cerca de Ti,' 'El mundo es un dia gris,' 'Esta Noche,' and 'Esta Vez.' They've maintained a presence in Colombian rock without becoming a mainstream fixture, working mostly within an alternative rock framework that occasionally incorporates other elements.
