Manno Marques is a Brazilian singer-songwriter from São Paulo. His self-titled debut album came out in 1979 and included the ballad 'A Mulher Que Eu Amo,' which became a signature song for him.
He released a series of albums through the 1980s and early 1990s, each simply numbered after his name. Other songs like 'Atende O Telefone' and 'Linda' also found an audience. His music often dealt with themes of love and introspection.
At one point in the 1980s, Marques faced accusations of plagiarism, though he continued to write and record. He worked with musicians like guitarist Toninho Horta and collaborated with artists including Vinicius de Moraes and Chico Buarque.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
