Mano & Ray came out of Rio de Janeiro in the mid-2000s with a sound that mixed funk and samba. Their track 'Bigodinho' caught on quickly, with a rhythm that was hard to ignore and lyrics that felt playful. They put out their first album in 2007, simply called 'Mano & Ray'.
They followed that with 'Poder Paralelo' in 2010 and 'Ponto de Luz' in 2019. Their songs often touched on social themes, which sometimes drew attention beyond just the music. Other tracks like 'Arando Com Chifre' and 'Cara a Cara' show the range in their catalog, from danceable grooves to more direct storytelling.
