A Spanish singer-songwriter who moved from a beloved band to a long solo career.
For the band years, try 'Eramos'. From the solo stuff, 'Una Tarde de Sol' holds up.
He co-founded El Último de la Fila in the 1980s, a band that put out records like 'Astronomía Razonable' and 'Nuevo Pequeño Catecismo'. After they ended in 1998, he kept writing songs like 'Una Tarde de Sol' and sometimes waded into social themes, as with the 2013 track 'Som Valentes'. His music has a plainspoken, slightly literary feel, nodding to influences like Dylan and Cohen.
He started with El Último de la Fila in 1984, releasing albums through the '90s. When the band wrapped up, he went solo with 'Arena en los Bolsillos' in 1998 and has kept making records since, up to 'Geometría del Rayo' in 2018.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
