Manolo Muñoz came up singing in bars around Córdoba, Spain. In 1990, he released 'Llamarada,' a ballad that became a national hit and gave him a following. The song's success led some to call him 'El Príncipe del Flamenco.'
He didn't stay strictly within flamenco. On albums like 'Sueños de Libertad' from 1992 and 'Animal de Luz' from 1997, he worked with pop and rock sounds. His career was interrupted in 1999 when he was arrested for drug possession, an event that got a lot of press at the time.
Later, in 2005, he released a song called 'A Jota Renuncio,' which was a direct criticism of the far-right party Vox. That move stirred up political arguments, but Muñoz held his ground on it.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
