Marcas do Pampa formed in 1995 with Daniel Rodríguez on vocals and guitar, Héctor Godoy on guitar and vocals, and Ariel Lico on bass. Their debut album was called "Tradición y Arraigo." They put out other records like "Por los Caminos del Pampa" and "Alma Gaucha." Their song "Meu Velho Galpão" became a kind of regional anthem.
In 2003, bassist Ariel Lico died in an accident. The band continued with Alejandro Leguizamón taking over on bass. A few years later, they had a dispute with their record label that led to some legal trouble and a break from recording. They came back with an album called "De Pie" in 2008.
They've worked with other musicians at times, like the charango player Peteco Carabajal. Their other songs include "Morena do baile," "Muié Véia," "A Nossa Música," and "Aconchego."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
