Marciley Veloso started singing in Aracaju, Brazil, before moving to São Paulo in her twenties. Her song 'Linda' became a national hit, introducing her voice to a wider audience. She later recorded 'Linda Menina' and 'Voa Passarinho' as well.
She worked with bossa nova guitarist Joao Bosco on the 2003 album 'Bossa 2000'. Her earlier releases included a self-titled debut in 1995 and 'Flor do Caribe' in 2000.
Her band at various points included guitarist Luciano Calazans, bassist Gilvan Rosa, and drummer Marcelo Costa.
