Marcio Rogério and Luciano were a Brazilian sertanejo duo who formed in the mid-1980s. Marcio Rogério Vieira was born in São Paulo in 1961, and Luciano Silva came from Guarapuava, Paraná, in 1966. They started playing local bars and clubs, eventually releasing their self-titled debut album in 1990.
That album contained 'Boite Azul,' which became a massive hit on Brazilian radio. The song's lyrics about longing for a lost love in a nightclub connected with listeners and helped establish the duo's presence in the romantic sertanejo genre. Other songs like 'Eu Vou Fazer Você Feliz' and 'Sonho de Um Caminhoneiro' also became part of their repertoire.
They continued recording through the 1990s and 2000s with albums like 'Ao Vivo' in 1995 and 'Na Estrada' in 1997. In 2000, Marcio Rogério was seriously injured in a car accident but recovered and returned to performing with Luciano.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
