Marco Onze came out of Buenos Aires in the late 1990s, led by singer and guitarist Marco Pereyra. Their debut album 'Eu Sou' arrived in 2000, and its title track became a kind of anthem in parts of Latin America. The band's lineup included bassist Juan Manuel Santos, drummer Nicolás Vázquez, and guitarist Martín Rodríguez.
They put out a few more records after that, like 'Sonhos e Quimeras' in 2002 and 'Tempo' in 2004. In 2005, Vázquez left the group and Rodríguez took over on drums. Some of their lyrics drew criticism at the time, which the band addressed by saying they were just writing about ordinary life.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
