Marco Mansoro came up in Salvador, Bahia, where the local samba and bossa nova rhythms shaped his ear. He put together a band in 2015 with bassist Peterson Bastos, drummer Marcelo Callado, and keyboardist Wladmir Sogrê, working in a mix of pop, MPB, and folk.
His song 'Música Para o Tempo Passar' became something of an anthem about time passing, and it anchored his self-titled debut album in 2016. Later records like 'Tempo e Canção' in 2018 and 'Vida e Obra' in 2020 kept exploring similar themes, though the 2020 release was noted as something of a departure.
Other tracks like 'A Essência,' 'Alerta,' 'Bons Ventos,' and 'Bússola' round out his catalog. In 2017, there was some noise about plagiarism allegations on a song called 'Por Amor,' which the band denied.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
