Marcos e Bruno are a Brazilian duo from Bahia. Marcos Paulo Nascimento handles vocals and percussion, while Bruno Silveira plays accordion and sings. They put out their first record, 'Chapando o Coco,' in 2016, which gave them their breakout song of the same name.
Their music pulls from the regional sounds around them, mixing samba, axé, and pagode rhythms into something made for dancing. They followed that first album with others like 'Só Pra Curtir' in 2018 and 'Baianidade' in 2020. Another track, 'Nosso Amor,' also appears among their most popular songs.
Early on, they dealt with the kind of financial limits and local obscurity that many independent artists face. There was also some dispute over the authorship of 'Chapando o Coco' that led to legal challenges. They kept working, found their audience, and have toured playing festivals since.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
