Marcos e Junior

Marcos Antônio Ferreira and José Júnior Rodrigues met at a Pentecostal church in São Paulo in the early 1980s. They started singing together, and by 1993 they had recorded "É Aí Que Jesus Aparece," which became their most recognizable song. That track, along with others like "Deus Faz Não Virar Sim" and "A Mão de Deus," gave them a place in Brazilian gospel music through the 1990s and 2000s.

Their music drew some criticism from parts of the Christian community, with questions about how closely it hewed to traditional gospel. They kept recording anyway, putting out albums like "Sonhos" in 1995 and "Tempo de Milagres" in 1997. Later releases included "Nação Adoradora" in 2003 and "O Grande Amor" in 2010.

Marcos handled lead vocals and guitar, while Júnior sang backing parts and played bass. Their partnership lasted nearly four decades, with songs that stayed in circulation in churches and on gospel radio.
