Marcos Paulo e Rulian started playing together in the late 1990s around Ribeirão Preto. Their first album, 'Agora Tanto Faz,' came out in 2002 and did well enough to get them noticed nationally. They've kept at it since, putting out a dozen studio albums and songs like 'Cuidado! Meu beijo vicia' and 'Baladeiro.'
Their music fits into the sertanejo scene with some country and pop touches. They've worked with other Brazilian acts like João Carreiro e Capataz on 'Casa Das Tia' and others such as Jorge & Mateus. The duo is Marcos Paulo on vocals and Rulian on guitar, both writing material.
In 2010 there was a plagiarism claim about a song called 'Pout-Pourri' that got dismissed. They've also drawn criticism for supporting Jair Bolsonaro and opposing same-sex marriage, which has turned some listeners away. They still perform and record, but the political stuff has become part of how people talk about them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
