Marcos Vidal

Marcos Vidal is a Spanish singer-songwriter who writes worship music that leans toward pop and rock. He came up in Malaga, performing in local bands and festivals before releasing his first album, 'Marcado por el amor,' in 1990. His third album, 1993's 'Cara a Cara,' gave him his most recognizable song, the title track.

That song, 'Cara a Cara,' became a kind of standard in certain circles, a straightforward anthem about spiritual connection. Other songs like 'Lavame En Tu Sangre Salvador' and 'Aqui Estoy' followed a similar path, built on melodic hooks and direct lyrics. He kept recording through the 2000s, putting out albums like 'Cosas que contarte' and 'Seguir caminando.'

In 2006, he made some public comments criticizing the Spanish government's support for the arts, which stirred up some debate at the time. He's kept a lower profile since, but the earlier material, especially from the 'Cara a Cara' period, still gets played.
