Marcus Vinile formed in São Paulo in 2002, with Marcus Leite on vocals. Their early years were lean, but they kept playing. In 2006, their debut single 'Casa de Swing' broke through, becoming a national hit and winning them the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira for Best New Artist.
They followed that success with albums like 'Eu Sou o Samba' in 2008, 'O Som do Mercado' in 2011, and 'Maré Cheia' in 2015. The band's sound drew from Brazilian samba, blues, and funk. Alongside Leite, core members included Alex Ribeiro on bass and Renato Massa on drums.
Other songs in their catalog include 'Motivos', 'A Clave do Amor', 'Agora', and 'Bege'. The lineup shifted over time, but those three remained at the center of the group's work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
