Maria Helena Anversa is a Brazilian musician whose work centers on quiet, introspective songs. Her 2008 debut album took its title from the track "Ausência e Presença," which became something of a signature piece for her. The song deals with the lingering feeling of someone's absence, a theme that runs through much of her writing.

Her music tends toward minimal arrangements, often built around acoustic guitar and her own voice.
