Mariachi Diamante

Mariachi Diamante formed in 2007 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, as an all-female ensemble in a traditionally male-dominated genre. Their debut album 'Buenas Noches, América' came out in 2009, followed by later releases like 'Vamos a Bailar' in 2012 and 'Sin Fronteras' in 2015. Songs like 'Dime' and 'Recuerdos de amor' show their range across traditional rancheras and contemporary ballads.

Core members have included lead vocalist Marisol Guizar, first violinist Cynthia Rodríguez, guitarrón player Anahi Garibay, and vihuela player Lupita Olvera. Their lineup has remained relatively stable, with Guizar's voice providing the emotional center and Rodríguez's violin work forming much of the melodic backbone.

As an all-women group in mariachi, they faced some skepticism from traditionalists about authenticity. They kept performing anyway, becoming a visible example of women working in the genre. Their music draws from Mexican traditions while reaching audiences beyond those boundaries.
