Mariah (Me)

Mariah formed in suburban Seattle in the early 2000s, a group of young musicians drawn together by music and faith. Their sound took cues from artists like Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen, mixing folk, rock, and electronic textures into something quietly their own.

In 2005, they released "I've Sinned My Lord," a song that connected with listeners through its plainspoken look at guilt and the search for forgiveness. That track became their breakout, pulling them into wider attention without much fanfare.

They put out a handful of albums over the next decade, including Blood Red Testament in 2005, The Book of Lost Souls in 2008, Ashes to Ashes in 2011, and The Great Flood in 2015. The work stayed grounded in questions of belief and doubt, often carried by Sarah McLachlan's vocals and writing.
