Their song "Rock and Roll Jesus" became something of an anthem for them. It was direct and unapologetic in its message, which sometimes drew criticism from parts of the Christian community and led to occasional radio bans. The band didn't really back down from that stance.
They put out albums like their self-titled debut in 1990, followed by "Second Chance" in 1994 and "Signs of Life" in 1996. The lineup stayed fairly consistent over those years.
