Background notes

Archive material and source history

Marilyn Avenue was a rock band from River City. Their debut album 'River City Ransom' came out in 1985, with the title track becoming their best-known song. They released three more albums over the next seven years: 'Heartless City' in 1987, 'Unleashed' in 1989, and 'Ashes to Ashes' in 1992.

Their drummer Bobby Carter died in a motorcycle accident in 1994. The band continued with a new drummer after that, and their sound shifted toward more reflective material. In recent years, some of their music has appeared in films and television shows.
