Marjinal

Marjinal formed as a French hip-hop collective in the early 2000s in Trappes, a Parisian suburb. The group included brothers Karim and Taoufik Boukherrou, who performed as Youss and Mounir, along with their cousin Aziz El-Halouani, known as Doppel Gang. Their music often drew from North African rhythms and addressed life in the banlieues, which connected with many young listeners but also drew criticism from some quarters for its directness.

They released their debut album "Passeur de Rêves" in 2004, which found both critical and commercial success. Later albums like "Comme ça" (2006), "Pris pour cible" (2008), and "Corrida" (2011) followed. In 2021, their single "Ne Doute Pas" featuring Tayc became a notable hit, showing their continued presence in French music.

Outside the group, Youss put out a solo album called "Égoïste" in 2012, while Mounir and Doppel Gang worked together as the duo Banlieusards, releasing "Enfants de la République" in 2016.
