Archive material and source history
Mark Forster was born Mark Cwiertnia in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1984. He started playing music locally as a teenager and put out his first album, 'Karton,' in 2007. That record had a mix of pop, rock, and folk sounds, which gave a sense of where he was headed.
Things picked up for him in 2012 with the album 'Schnee, Eis & Sonnenschein.' The single 'Au Revoir' from that album got a lot of radio play and helped him reach a wider audience in Germany. He's kept releasing music since then, with albums like 'Bauch und Kopf' in 2015 and 'Liebe' in 2018.
Some of his more recognizable songs include 'Wir Sind Groß' and 'Übermorgen.' He also recorded 'Drei Uhr Nachts' with LEA. Forster plays piano and guitar, and he writes his own material.
