Marla Ingrid formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 around vocalist Luiza Marla and guitarist Ingrid Mendonça. Their debut album came out in 2018, sharing its name with the track 'Volta Pra Mim,' a ballad that found an audience in Brazil. The band's lineup later expanded to include drummer Rafael Gomes, bassist Lucas Peres, and keyboardist Thiago Barbalho.
They put out two more albums, 'Nada É Por Acaso' in 2020 and 'Deixa Levar' in 2022. Their music often blended Brazilian rhythms with pop elements, and some of their lyrics touched on social themes that drew criticism from certain groups while connecting with their listeners.
