Marlango

Marlango formed in the early 2000s as a duo with Leonor Watling, a Spanish actress, and Alejandro Pelayo, a Cuban-born musician. Their first album came out in 2004, simply called 'Marlango.' They've kept working together since then, with Watling and Pelayo remaining at the center of the project.

Their songs like 'Days are tired' and 'Dame La Razón' show a sound that draws from jazz and bossa nova, but they've also brought in other elements over time. The music doesn't stick to one style, touching on flamenco and electronic textures in later albums like 'Technicolor' from 2014 and 'El Porvenir' from 2018.

They've had other musicians play with them occasionally, including guitarist Jorge Drexler and bassist Pedro Aznar. The duo's work tends to focus on the details of relationships and emotion, often with a quiet, rhythmic feel that avoids big dramatic statements.
