Archive material and source history
Marmalade Boy formed in Tokyo in 1995. The band included Mikiko Shimada on vocals, Yuichi Izeki on guitar and vocals, Takashi Kato on bass, and Yoshinori Nishi on drums. Izeki wrote most of their material.
They released five studio albums of pop and rock with emotional ballads. One of their best-known songs is "Egao Ni Aitai," which came out in 1995. Other tracks like "Moment" and "Angel" also appeared in their catalog.
In 1997, Shimada developed vocal cord nodules, which led to some postponed concerts. The band eventually broke up in 2002. They reunited for a series of shows in 2011.
