Mars Addict came out of Seattle's underground clubs in the mid-1990s. The band's lineup included vocalist Jared "Chainsaw" Black, guitarist Jake "Razorblade" Razor, bassist Alex "Stud" Steele, and drummer Ethan "Thundershot" Thompson.
Their 1998 album "Chainsaw Hedgemaze Mayhem" became a cult favorite, with the title track featuring distorted guitars and Black's intense vocals. The band's sound mixed thrash metal, punk, and grunge elements.
Beyond that album, Mars Addict released several others including "The Blood of Angels" in 2001, "Apocalypse Now or Never" in 2004, "Denizen of the Damned" in 2009, and "Anthems for the Damned" in 2014. Their songs like "Back To School," "Chibi," "I'm Not Ok," and "In My Head" show the range of their work.
