Marty Friedman

Marty Friedman is an American guitarist who first gained wider attention as a member of Megadeth in the late 1980s and 1990s. His playing on tracks like 'Tornado Of Souls' helped define that era of the band's sound. He left Megadeth in 1999 and has since worked primarily as a solo artist.

His solo work often incorporates elements from Japanese music, a direction hinted at by collaborations like 'The Perfect World (feat. Jean-Ken Johnny & KenKen)'. He has released albums under his own name for decades, including 'Dragon's Kiss' in 1988 and 'Inferno' in 2021.

Friedman has also been a figure of some discussion for his political views and for participating in projects outside the mainstream metal world, like playing with Japanese pop star Ayumi Hamasaki. He continues to record and perform, maintaining a presence distinct from his earlier fame with Megadeth.
