Maru e Leeh formed in 2015 when Mariana de Sousa Albuquerque (Maru) and Larissa de Castro Rodrigues (Leeh) began making music together. They're from Salvador, Bahia, and their debut album came out in 2017. That record was called 'Sonho Loco,' which is also the name of its title track.
Their music has been described as pop with R&B and Brazilian rhythms, though that early sound was more dreamy. They've put out a few albums since then, including ones simply titled 'Maru e Leeh' in 2019 and 'Vida' in 2022.
In 2018, there was some public discussion about their song 'Comigo Ninguém Pode' and accusations of plagiarism. The duo denied those claims at the time.
