Mass Hysteria formed in France in the early 1990s. Their debut album 'Contraddiction' came out in 1992, followed by a self-titled record in 1995. They've kept a fairly steady lineup with Mouss Kelai on vocals, Yann Heurtaux on guitar, and Frédéric Duquesne on bass.
Their sound has touched on thrash and industrial metal at times, with songs like 'L'enfer Des Dieux' and 'Babylone' showing their range. In 2008, they had to cancel a tour when Kelai was hospitalized, but they came back with the album 'Failles' in 2010.
They've worked with other musicians occasionally, like Devin Townsend on the 1999 album 'En Cavale' and Andreas Kisser from Sepultura on 'Failles'. More recently, they put out 'L'Armée Des Ombres' in 2016.
