Mateus e Cristiano

Mateus and Cristiano formed their sertanejo duo in 2010, both coming from Goiás, Mateus from Anápolis and Cristiano from Itapuranga. They built their sound around the kind of close harmonies that define the genre, and their early single 'Se Eu Não Te Fizesse Chorar' gave them a quick foothold in 2011.

Their catalog includes songs like 'Capitão do Povo' and 'Se É pra falar de amor', which fit squarely in the modern sertanejo tradition of romantic, guitar-driven storytelling. The duo's career was interrupted in 2014 when Cristiano was treated for a tumor, but they resumed work after a year.

They've kept recording since, with tracks like 'Faz Mais Uma Vez Comigo' and 'Cheiro de Shampoo' maintaining their presence on Brazilian radio. The music doesn't stray far from the sertanejo formula, but their vocal blend has been consistent enough to sustain a following.
