Living on Empty

You walk a tightrope in the dark.

While far below you, dead man's dogs bark.

You look to me as if the answer is easy is rolling dice.

I wish I knew which way you should go.

Oh it would be nice.

Are you living on empty?

I can feel the pain is your heart begins to tear.

I can feel the anguish, as you wait for the answer, to your fervent prayer.

When god says know he has something better, just beyond another door.

It may be waiting there for you on a different floor.

You turn to the wise man, but the wise men's lost his way among the clowns.

You turn to the trapezist, but that she's lost her grip, and gracefully fallen down.

You look ahead and see the light of a door that you once knew,

The eyes of Heaven arms open wide, beckon to cross through.
