He started working with a band in the late 1990s, with Anderson Rocha on guitar, Ricardo Rosa on bass, and Leonardo Chaves on drums. Their sound pulled from rock and folk, with some Brazilian touches mixed in. They put out records fairly steadily, including "Pé na Estrada" in 2006 and "O Começo do Fim do Mundo" in 2009.
Caparroz kept writing through the 2010s, with albums like "Sombra" in 2013 and "Fogo" in 2017. His lyrics sometimes stirred things up for being direct about social issues, which drew both listeners and some criticism. He was still putting out music as recently as 2022 with "Desalento."
