Max Van Praag was a Dutch musical group formed by three brothers from Maastricht: Max, Louis, and Nico. They started playing together after the war, with Max on accordion and vocals, Louis on guitar, and Nico on bass. The group later included saxophonist Joep Peeters and other musicians.
Their most enduring song is "Onder de Lindeboom," which became popular in 1953. It's a nostalgic piece about a linden tree that connected with Dutch listeners. The song remained in circulation long after its initial release.
In 1969, they released an album called "De Liefde en de Rozen" that took some criticism for its experimental approach. The group was eventually recognized with the Order of Orange-Nassau for their contributions to Dutch culture.
