Archive material and source history
Mayara is a Brazilian band led by vocalist Mayara Rodrigues. They formed in 2015 when Rodrigues connected with guitarist Rafael Barros, bassist Gustavo Teixeira, and drummer Gabriel Nogueira in São Paulo.
Their 2017 single "Além Das Estrelas" became their breakout track. The song's title translates to "Beyond the Stars," which fits with some of the cosmic imagery that appears in their work. Other songs in their catalog include "Busque a Deus," "Chapéuzinho," and "Jesus É o Senhor do Impossível."
They released their debut album "Echos do Cosmos" in 2018, followed by "Astral Journey" in 2020. The second album incorporated some jazz and electronic elements alongside their established sound.
